Do you accept school-age children from out of the state of Ohio?
No, due to school funding, we currently aren’t able to accept out-of-state school-age children.
Do you accept adults from out of the state of Ohio?
Yes, as long as they are no longer in school or if they are ready to transition to Adult Day Programming.
Do I have to give up my guardianship to place my loved one at Sunshine Communities?
No, it’s actually the opposite. Sunshine Communities can’t take over guardianship. You will remain their guardian.
About how long does it take to admit someone to Sunshine Communities' residential program once identified as appropriate for a vacancy?
Typically 2–4 weeks. Of course, there could be variables, one of which would be if the adult lives out of state.
